BOB: Welcome to something more. I’m your host, Bob Duvall. And today we’re going to talk about the power of imagination. [Music ends] So, with me today is Kerry Kirkwood. He is the founding pastor of Trinity Fellowship in Tyler, Texas. He’s a published author. He’s a pastor to pastors. And he moves in a strong prophetic anointing. Now, Kerry, welcome to the program. Great to have you.
KERRY: Thank you, Bob. Glad to be here. Thank you.
BOB: Now, you grew up in a godly home.
KERRY: Yes.
BOB: You had an experience at a young age with the Holy Spirit.
KERRY: Right.
BOB: In fact, you used to line up and preach to stuffed animals and dolls. And they’d get saved every week and healed every week.
KERRY: [Laughs] Exactly.
BOB: And you, even as a teenager, you had another great experience with God. You became a pastor. But in 1999, you were already a pastor, but you had a fear of speaking in front of groups. And you came to a big meeting of fifteen hundred people. Tell me what happened.
KERRY: Well, I had my own crowd that I normally speak to at home. And Sid Roth I got used to them. And I knew they loved me. But I was in a meeting ñ it was called a presbytery ñ and where you prophecy over people. And so, I was okay going into the meeting. And then they put me on the platform. And the pastor said, “Be sure and prophesy over all those people in the balcony and around.” And I thought ñ I can’t even see them ñ
BOB: [Laughs]
KERRY: — much less prophesy to them. And fear gripped my heart.
BOB: Yeah.
KERRY: And Sid Roth I heard a voice say to me, “You’re way over your head. And people are going to see you, that you are not what you think you are.” And so the persons on both sides of me, the other two people I’m working with, were very known prophetic people. And, so, all of a sudden, I just felt like I was shrunk small. Immediately I heard a voice that I knew was the Lord. And He said to me, “Do not be confounded at their faces. I want you to see Myself inside of you speaking through you. Stand up right now or you never will. I jumped to my feet right at that moment, looked around, and, I guess I was a little quicker than what they thought.
BOB: [Laughs]
KERRY: And the person that was leading the meeting said, “Are you ready?” And I said, “Go ahead.” I went over and prophesied over the candidate there and began to declare over him what his job title was, he’d just retired, he was a pilot, and all the things that were being going on in his life up to that point. And they went back ñ they told me, they said, “Did you know this guy?” I said no. I went back and sat down. And I was just shaking, and the Lord said to me, “If you recognize that Me inside of you, you know, Jesus the Lord inside of you — and I’m the spirit of prophecy inside of you, then never doubt Me. And quit seeing yourself. See yourself the way I see you, not as the way you think you are.”
